The Global Corporate Challenge, or GCC as it is more commonly known, is a 12 month program businesses can participate in to help motivate their employees to lead healthier lives. The program was started over 10 years ago and has some pretty impressive research numbers to support its success. The challenge is measured in the number of steps you get in a day.
This winter has been an exercise in lazy for me. I’ve seriously fallen off in my fitness and nutrition since August. It started as my “taking a break” after triathlon season but got out of control real fast. I’ve joined a GCC team at VCU to help me get back on track. I’m not an avid walker but luckily I can convert other fitness activities into steps for the challenge.
I’m on day 4 and so far having to look at the pedometer at the end of the day has been a motivator to get’em in!
